Using Missouri’s Health Insurance Marketplaces: A Forum for Small Employers and Individuals

Dr. Karen Edison of MU’s Center for Health Policy will give an overview of the marketplaces, including the rationale for their development, the importance of the individual mandate, and the availability of tax exemptions for those who qualify.
Mary Timmel of the Small Business Majority, the non-profit entity contracted to do outreach to small employers around the state, will explain use of the marketplace by small employers.
Aaron Swaney, Outreach and Enrollment Specialist at the Family Health Center, will discuss use of the health insurance marketplace by individuals.
KRFU radio host David Lile will moderate the event.
Attendees will receive useful printed materials.
This event is cosponsored by the Columbia Public Library, the Family Health Center and the Voluntary Action Center.
