Health Care Vote
From LWV-US:
This could be our last chance to protect the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Senators are gearing up to vote on a new plan to replace the ACA before the end of the month.
It’s a last-ditch effort that will harm the American public by cutting health coverage and raising premiums and out of pocket costs for millions.
The legislation is sponsored by Senators Graham (R-SC) and Cassidy (R-LA). Like previous proposals, it is a partisan attempt to repeal the ACA.
The legislation will gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions, cut funding for Medicaid expansion, raise costs and eliminate coverage for millions of Americans.
Now is the time to call our Senators.
Tell them to reject the Graham-Cassidy health care legislation.
Graham-Cassidy will cause all the same devastating impacts as previous repeal legislation.
This legislation will cut coverage, raise costs, end Medicaid expansion, and gut protections for those with pre-existing conditions.
The country has moved on from repealing the ACA. Americans need a bipartisan solution that stabilizes health insurance marketplaces, protects children’s health and gets people the coverage they need.
The Affordable Care Act is not a perfect law but it has provided health care to millions of Americans who previously went without coverage. It is high time Congress stops trying to repeal this life-saving legislation.
Call our Senators today! This is our last chance to fight back.
