Town Hall Meeting

Town Hall Meeting with State Legislators

Thursday, February 5 at 7:00 p.m.

Columbia Public Library Friends Room

(Refreshments and social time will begin at 6:30.)

The public is invited to hear area legislators give their views on the priorities of this year’s legislative session. This is an opportunity to hear directly from them about the committees they serve on, key legislation, and actions they would like to see taken.

Legislators who have been invited include Senator Kurt Schaeffer (Dist. 19), Rep. Caleb Rowden (Dist. 44), Rep. Kip Kendrick (Dist. 45), Rep. Stephen Webber (Dist. 46), Rep. Chuck Basye (Dist. 47). Rep. Caleb Jones (Dist. 50) was invited but is unable to attend.

A question and answer session will follow the legislators’ statements, an opportunity for citizens to share issues and concerns.

This event, which is cosponsored by the Columbia Public Library, is free and open to the public.

State Program Planning

LWV State Program Planning

January 28, 2015

7:00 p.m.

Columbia Public Library – Friends Room

League advocacy begins with our positions. On January 28, we will look at our state League policy positions to determine if any need to be updated or if there are new positions we need to take. Enclosed in your January “Voter” is an insert with our state positions.*

We hope you will review this material and plan to attend our meeting.

All the local Leagues will submit a report of suggested changes or additions to LWVMO and these results will then be voted on at the State Convention in May.

Let your voice be heard!
