Wendy was elected Boone County Clerk in 1982 and has been in charge of all local elections since then.

The Community Room at the HyVee on Grindstone is located at the west end of the store. The room is on the second floor and can be reached by stairs or elevator in the vestibule at the entrance to the store. You are welcome to pick up some lunch in the store and bring it to the meeting room, if you like.

Update on Veterans Issues in Columbia

The League of Women Voters of Columbia-Boone County will present the program “Update on Veterans Issues in Columbia” on CAT-TV, taking a look at how our veterans are treated in the Columbia area on Wednesday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m.

A panel consisting of Stephen Gaither, public affairs director at the VA Hospital and Ross Bridges from Welcome Home, an organization that helps returning veterans, will discuss the topic.

Jim Robertson, managing editor, Columbia Daily Tribune will moderate the discussion.

The program will originate on Wednesday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. and will be replayed on CAT TV (Mediacom Channel 85; Charter Communications Channel 983; and CenturyTel Prism Channel 98. Replay times on CAT TV are at 7 am on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and 7:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.) The program will be available on the League website (lwvcbc.org) a few days after the show or at columbiaacess.tv.
