State Program Planning Meeting

LWVMO State Program Planning Meeting
Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 7 p.m.
On Zoom

In preparation for the 2021 LWVMO State Convention, local Leagues need to participate in LWVMO Program Planning to review current state League positions on issues and decide whether these positions are sufficient to carry out all of our advocacy on critical issues. Local Leagues are not allowed to take action as a League entity on issues without a position either at the local, state or national level. So, this process is the life blood of the League!

The process we will follow at our program planning meeting is:

·         Discuss the issues that we want to focus on for the next two years and determine if the positions for the state and national Leagues allow us to advocate for our priority issues.

·         If we find the state or national positions are not adequate, we can recommend a change or addition through a new study or a concurrence with a position from another state or local League.

·         Finally, we need to confirm or recommend changes to the policy positions of LWVMO

If you are interested in participating on January 27, we ask that you register so we can email you the links to the Guide to State Action (LWVMO positions in detail) and the Impact on Issues (LWVUS positions) to prepare for the meeting.
