Lunch & Learn: Missouri’s Clean Power Plan

“Missouri’s Clean Power Plan”
Lunch & Learn
Tuesday, January 19, 2016
12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m.
Hy-Vee Store on Grindstone – 2nd floor Community Room

The guest speaker will be Kyra Moore, director of the Air Pollution Control Program of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Moore, a Columbia resident, has served as the director of the program since 2011 and is the state’s expert on the Clean Power Plan.

The Clean Power Plan, issued in August, is the largest step so far in the U.S. to reduce greenhouse gasses. The EPA has charged the Air Pollution Control Program with developing Missouri’s plan to reduce CO2 from electricity generation by 37% by the year 2030. This reduction is independent of anticipated population growth and the wider adoption of electric cars.

The public is invited to attend.

Lunch is not provided by the League, however you can bring your own or purchase it in the store downstairs.

WEATHER POLICY: If the Columbia Public Schools are closed due to the weather, then LWV events are also cancelled.
