One Woman, One Vote

One Woman, One Vote

Sunday, August 17

2:00 p.m.

Columbia Public Library – Friends Room

How did American call itself the world’s greatest democracy but deny the right to vote to more than half its citizens?

Plan to attend the special showing of the PBS film One Woman, One Vote, which documents the 70 year struggle for woman suffrage, from Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s call for women’s rights in 1848 to the final passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution in 1920.

This event is cosponsored by the Columbia Public Library and AAUW and light refreshments will be provided.
