May LWV Learn & Share: What is ALEC?

Short, partial answer: ALEC is a model legislation organization that crafts legislation with a certain agenda for reuse throughout the 50 states. Find out more at this month’s Learn & Share meetings. Learn & Share meetings are small gatherings of League members, on a different topic each month. There’s one evening group (Wednesdays 7 pm) and one afternoon group (Thursdays 1:30 pm). Attend the one that suits your schedule – it’s a great way to get to know League members in a smaller, more intimate setting, often at a member’s home. This month’s meetings are about the significance of ALEC in producing the nation’s state laws. Wednesday May 22 7:00 pm meeting is at 1012 Hickory Hill (Kultgens’ home) and Thursday May 23 1:30 meeting is at 1417 N. Countryshire (Colwills’ home).
